James M. Dempsey, age 89, of Woodstock, passed away February 27, 2014. James was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII, and he retired from the Georgia Army National Guard. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Woodstock. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Belle Porter Dempsey. He is survived by his sons, Tim (wife, Ginger) Dempsey, of Stone Mountain, and Tony Dempsey, of Woodstock; grandchildren, Jessica and Jeffrey Smith.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:00 PM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday evening 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
