– Betty Jean Blalock, age 72 of Alpharetta died January 16, 2010. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She is survived by her husband of 53 years , Richard F. Blalock, daughters, Tina Smith of Cumming and Patti Blalock of Alpharetta; sister, Trish Howard of Alpharetta; sister-in-law, Edna Boling of Alpharetta; granddaughters, Kassie Smith and Katie Smith and fiancé Sam Lafountain all of Cumming. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Midway United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 2:00pm at Midway United Methodist Church with Dr. Lee Almy and Rev. Martha Aenchbacher to officiate. The body will be placed in state at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. The Blalock family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors.
