DURAND – Mrs. Katharine Merrill Durand, 91 of Alpharetta, GA, formerly of Norfolk, VA, died February 16, 2010. Mrs. Durand was born in St. Louis, Missouri, graduated from the University of Missouri, and was a long time member of the Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for 44 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Fenlon A. Durand (USMC Retired). A loving Mother and Grandmother she is survived by her children James (Jim) and Vickie Durand of Alpharetta, GA and Ric and Karyn Durand of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Lori and Danny Kennedy, Andrew Durand and Mary Durand; great grandchildren Drake and Grant Kennedy. The memorial service for Mrs. Durand will be on Monday, March 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church. The interment will be on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
