Mr. Egbert Christopher, 86, of Alpharetta, died June 27, 2010. Son of Robert and Estelle Dispain Christopher, he was a WWII Navy veteran, retired from the city of Atlanta after 35 years of service and a longtime member of the Union Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Durham Christopher. He is survived by his son, Jerry Christopher of Woodstock; grandchildren, Jessica Christopher of San Diego, CA and Monica and Benjamin Kane of Canton; great grandson, Robert Liam Kane; sister, Betty and Howard Garland of Rydal; sister-in-law, Betty Christopher of Madison; former daughter-in-law, Charlotte Christopher of Woodstock; and his beloved dog, Hank. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Bethea Fielding officiating. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please may donations in his memory to the Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory, 12050 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, 770-645-1414
