Clarence Lamar Carney, 82, of Roswell, GA, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2019 at 8:40PM at North Fulton Hospital with family by his side.
He was born on December 19, 1936 to John Grady and Neonie Jane Carney. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Lamar was very proud of his family and was excited to be "PawPaw" to his 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Lamar retired from Georgia Institute of Technology Research Department. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Lamar was also an avid gardener raising both flowers and vegetables. He loved tinkering with mechanical engines and creating tools to use around the house. He would spend hours listening to gospel preaching and music. Lamar was a man of God and in his faith, he knew he would be reunited with his love Myra Joy Duncan.
Lamar is preceded in death by both his parents; and his wife Myra Joy Duncan. He is survived by his Brothers – Tommy Carney, Bobby Carney, Harold Carney and Larry Carney; Children - Barbara & Joey Gunter of Woodstock, GA, Tim & Freda Carney of Marietta, GA, Eddie & Lorie Robinson of Canton, GA, Randy & Cherrie Carney of Cumming, GA; Grandchildren - Octavia Carney, Candra Gunter, Candace Taylor, Morgan Carney, Kenny Robinson; Great Grandchildren, Kody Robinson, Sadie Taylor, Macie Taylor, Gracie Taylor and Nick Taylor.
Visitation will be held at Northside Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2019 between the hours of 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Northside Chapel at 2:00pm with interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
