Elwood J. (Woody) Clark was born February 26, 1940 in Columbus, Georgia and he left his earthly body to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 24, 2021 at his home in Roswell, Georgia. He passed into eternity surrounded by his devoted wife, his children, and other family members after a very long illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louise Victor Clark of Columbus, Georgia and Mary Ellen Clark Draper of Jacksonville, Florida as well as older brother Victor Patrick Clark of Columbus, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Donna Hunnicutt Clark; son, Jay Clark (Julie) of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter, Candace Brasfield (Robert) of Sandy Springs, GA; grandchildren, Cole Clark, Kinsey Clark, Lizzie Brasfield, and Clark Brasfield; brothers, Ron Clark (Nancy) of Bogart, GA and Jimmy Clark of Hamilton, GA; sister, Mary Ann Ray (Danny) of St. Augustine, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Woody left a career in business to answer God's call to full time ministry in 1979. He has an amazing gift for Scripture memorization, retention and communication. He founded Word of Life Association – a non-profit, tax exempt organization to promote teaching, preaching and Biblically based Christian Counseling. In 1988 he began traveling overseas conducting pastor's conferences, and evangelistic meeting in Ghana, West Africa and Honduras, Central America. For twenty plus years he traveled to over sixteen countries spreading The Gospel of Christ through preaching, teaching and counseling. When between trips, he taught Bible Study groups through the Metro Atlanta area as well as counseling individuals and couples in their times of trouble. Always his compass was "What does The Scripture Say'? Nothing more and Nothing Less! Under his leadership, Word of Life established works in Ghana, West Africa, Honduras, Central America and Israel.
Woody was a long time member and elder at Mt. Paran North Church of God in Marietta. The past several years he was a regular attendee and supporter at Mt Bethel Methodist Church in Marietta. He was an ordained minister of The Gospel; a licensed Christian Counselor and Therapist and a gifted communicator of The Bible.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11AM at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
