Mr. Gene J. King, 82, of Sky Valley, GA, died January 23, 2012. Born in Hendersonville, NC, he was raised in South Carolina but spent most of his life in Georgia where he was married to his wife, Betty Jean King for 61 years. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves after 26 years as a Major. He loved fishing, golf, bowling and going to Cherokee, NC. Along with his wife he is survived by his children, Donna and Gary Littleton of Hoschton, Torrie and Chris Picon of Johns Creek, Timothy Gene King of Alpharetta and Ted Dean and Debra King of Woodstock; grandchildren, Joshua and Michelle, Becky and Will, Dustin, Chelsea, Jessica and Travis; great grandchildren, Nicolas and Anna. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 26 at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Carey Gibson officiating.
