Ann Louise Pinyan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ann Louise Pinyan, age 59, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022. Ann was born on January 8, 1963 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter to the late Sanford Billy and Joan Beverly Pinyan. She is survived by her wife and partner of 25 years, Dara Reynolds; son, Julian Pinyan; stepson, Michael Reynolds; and sister, Leslie Pinyan. Music was central to Ann’s life. From singing in the church choir as a child, to singing with various groups while in school at UGA, to singing with blues bands when she lived in the Bay Area, to singing and acting with theater groups in Columbia, SC, to singing again in a church choir at Atlanta Unity, where she met her wife. After singing in the Atlanta Feminist Women’s Chorus she then was a proud founding and singing member of The Atlanta Women’s Chorus for the past 9 years, serving as Membership President twice. Ann dearly loved her Voices of Note family, the AWC and AGMC. Ann was an executive in the male-dominated world of IT for many years. Sometimes she was the only woman in the room, but that didn’t bother her or slow her down! She left corporate America to own her own executive recruiting firm in 2014. Also in 2014, she was diagnosed with stage IV Ovarian Cancer. She fought that disease for almost 8 full years. She LIVED with cancer. She chronicled her experience in a blog: Kicking Cancer’s Ass at Annpinyan.wordpress.com. There’s NO WAY to explain what these years have been like. Through all of it Ann conducted herself with dignity and grace and a whole lot of realness. It’s impossible to list all of her accomplishments, business and personal, on this page. Suffice it to say that Ann made an impact on everyone she met. Her dynamic personality drew you into her orbit and you stayed because she was the best at being a friend. She was funny, kind, smart, vivacious, funny, giving of her time and talent, funny and funny. Ann LOVED life and loved everyone she got to “do” life with. Ann’s Celebration of Life will be held at Unity Atlanta this Saturday, July 23 at 11am. Address: 3597 Parkway Lane, Peachtree Corners.
