Mr. James Max Hall

August 6, 1934 - March 2, 2022

Max Hall of Tybee Island, GA, went home to be with Jesus and to be reunited with his son and other loved ones, on the morning of March 2, 2022. Max was born August 6th, 1934 to Addie Bell and Rual Hall in Hayesville, NC. He graduated from Hayesville High School in 1953 and married his high school sweetheart, Rosa Hall. Max enlisted in the Army in 1957 and served in the Army reserve for several years after being honorably discharged. Max and Rosa Hall had a son, Tim Hall, on August 8, 1962, who graduated from the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia and went on to become a Dentist in Lawrenceville, GA. Max enjoyed season tickets to the Bulldog games for many years with his son and family. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs. Max was an entrepreneur and “Jack of all trades”. He owned several businesses in the metro-Atlanta area, including an Auto Body Shop and Car Rental Service in Marietta, GA. Max retired to Tybee Island, GA with his loving partner, Viviane DuBuc and has been a “local” in the community for 20 years. He has enjoyed many rounds of golf with his son, grandson and friends on Wilmington Island and surrounding golf courses. He has served on various Tybee Island service committees and volunteered as a Veteran tour guide at Fort Pulaski National Park. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 154 and the Tybee Island Historical Society. Max was most proud of his grandchildren, Virginia (27) and Cam (22). He enjoyed spending holidays together and attending high school football and soccer games to watch Cam and high school plays and concerts to watch Virginia, and especially their visits to the beach at Tybee Island. Max was predeceased in death by his parents, Addie Bell and Rual Hall, sisters, Francis Haney, Anna Nicholson and Joann Miller, his wife, Rosa Hall and his son, Tim Hall. He is survived by his sister, Thelma (Carson) Rogers, brother-in-law, Gene Miller, his loving partner, Viviane DuBuc, his daughter-in-law, Chrsitina Hall and grandchildren, Virginia and Cameron Hall, and many nieces and nephews and their families. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 12:00 pm. There will be a family visitation at Northside Chapel in Roswell at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, if desired, to the Gary Sinise Foundation for Veterans.
