Dr. James Shelton Tate Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dr. James “Jim” Shelton Tate, D.D.S., age 84, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Monday, may 23rd, 2022. He was married to his loving wife, Beverly, for 51 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church Atlanta. He retired after 53 years as an Endodontist in the Atlanta/Marietta area. Jim attended Florida State University where he received his undergraduate degree. He obtained his DDS from Emory university. He was a member of the GDA, Northwestern Dental Society, Hinman Dental Society and Southern Endo Study Group (SESG). Jim joined SESG in 1965, he served on the Steering committee from annual golf tournament “The Jim Tate Open” in 2016 in appreciation for his many years of organizing and overseeing the tournament. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Shelton C. Tate; mother, Ruthe Cox Tate; his brother, Terry and his precious granddaughter, Allyson Faulk in 2008. Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Kim Tate Faulk (Joe), Kevin Tate; stepson, Kenneth Brown (Pam); grandchildren, Chris Faulk, Zane Tate, Walker Tate, Rachael and Joshua Brown. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Northside Chapel located at 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, Georgia 30075.
