Joseph (Joe) R. Wagner, 99, of Woodstock Ga, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on May 20, 1921 and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa where he met his wife, Ann. They married in 1943 while Joe was on Christmas leave prior to leaving for overseas duty. He was immensely proud of his military service in the Army during WWII where he served in the Philippines. Joe and his wife had six children and later relocated to Georgia. He was a devoted husband and father, an avid bowler, and in his later years, he loved attending bingo games with his brother and sister. He was an active, long-time member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta, Ga. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ann, son Cliff, parents Joe & Virginia and brother Jim. He is survived by his remaining children: Joe Wagner of Woodstock, Ann (Jim) Feczko of Marietta, Deb Ephrem of Roswell, David Wagner of Hayesville, NC and Tim (Laureen) Wagner of Roswell, as well as his brother, Clifford Wagner of Roswell and his sister, Dolly Patterson of Marietta. Joe also had multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 535 Rucker Road, Alpharetta at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, February 22, 2021. Interment will follow and will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell. Masks and social distancing are required at both locations. A private family visitation will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Northside Chapel, 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell. Flowers may be sent to Northside Chapel or donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
