Mrs. Marilyn Jean Hickey

Marilyn Jean Smith Hickey, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at St. George Village in Roswell, GA. Mrs. Hickey was born in Chicago, IL on April 15, 1942 to the late Joseph P. and Jean Sturmer Smith Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Edmond Hickey. Marilyn graduated from Rosary High School in Detroit, MI and attended Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, MI. On May 20, 1967 she married Mark. After growing up and primarily living in Birmingham, MI, they moved to their home on Lake Oconee in 2007 and at St. George Village in 2014. She had many hobbies including decorating, gardening, music, reading and charities. Marilyn was previously an active and faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Beverly Hills, MI and Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro, GA. She is survived by daughter Kelly and son-in-law Bill Corcoran of Chicago, IL; son Kevin and daughter-in-law Jennifer Hickey of Marietta, GA; son Ed Hickey and daughter-in-law Eden Schafer of Nashville, TN; sister, Pat Smith of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren Ainsley Corcoran, Emma Kate and Caroline Hickey, Teddy Hickey; sister-in-law Molly and brother-in-law Tom Martin of Plymouth, MI; sister-in-law Pat and Nancy Hickey of Grand Rapids, MI; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s memory to St. George Village. Please contact Angela Tucker at (678) 987-0403.
