Mrs. Myra Joyce Sargent Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Myra Joyce Sargent, 77, of Waleska, GA (originally from Roswell, GA) passed away on June 13, 2022. Born on December 10, 1944 in Alpharetta, GA, Joyce grew up in Roswell and graduated from Roswell High School in 1963. She spent most of her career as a bookkeeper, working for Gold Kist and Willow Springs Country Club. Later in life, she started a successful craft business, creating Christmas decorations. She was a member of Waleska First Baptist church and loved to cook traditional southern food, and took pride in preparing meals for her family, both immediate and extended. Most of all, she absolutely loved people and loved to listen to anyone’s story. Always ready for a conversation, she frequently filled the role of confidant, advice-giver, and friend. She loved life and her family. She was a dedicated wife, mom, sister and Grammy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Bertha Dean and her brother, Jackie Dean. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harvey Sargent, her son, Greg Sargent of Canton (Lori), her granddaughters, Hallie and Abby, her sister, Patricia Lassetter of Newnan, and her brother, William Dean of Woodstock. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday June 22 at 11:30 at Northside Chapel (12050 Crabapple Rd, Roswell). Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 21 from 4-7 pm. She will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at 2:00 on Wednesday.
