W. Lamar Hansard of Milton, GA passed away at the age of 83 on January 24, 2022. Lamar was born in the Haw Creek area of Forsyth County, GA on January 19, 1939. He graduated from Milton High School in Alpharetta, GA in 1956. He worked for the Georgia Department of Labor for thirty-two years and retired at the age of 51. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and UGA Bulldog football fan. He was thrilled last year to see both beloved teams become champions. Lamar is preceded in death by his parents, James Bradford and Gladys Hansard; and his sister, Brenda Hansard. He is survived by his wife, Jane Sewell Hansard; his children, Nancy (Todd) Hegi; Jeff Hansard; Amy (Tom) Hunsucker; Kellie (Mike) Spears; his grandchildren, Robert and William Hegi; Brady Hansard; Makena, Jackson, Gehrig and Maddux Abernathy; and Brooke and Darby Spears. He is also lovingly remembered and survived by his brother, Charles (Mae) Hansard; his sister, Mildred O’Neill; and his son-in-law, Marty Abernathy. The family will receive friends at Northside Chapel in Roswell, GA on Friday, January 28th, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm. A graveside service officiated by Rev. Bud Sutton will be held on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA at 1pm.
