Obituary

Anargyros "Cole" Mantas, 26, suddenly and tragically passed away on December 18, 2025. Cole, as he was known to friends, was born in the Boston, Massachusetts area on October 21, 1999 to Patricia Mantas Lico and Nicholas Mantas. Cole was currently residing and working in Athens, Georgia.

Cole was previously a member of Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta and later attended North River Baptist in Roswell, GA and was active in their youth group. During his college years, he found solice at the New England Peace Pagoda gardens in Massachusetts.

Cole attended Cambridge High School. He received his associates degree from Bergen College in New Jersey and continued his studies at UMass - Amherst in Massachusetts. He was passionate about human rights issues, PTSD and alternative medicine, mental health issues and endangered species. Cole was known for his kindness and was always willing to help someone in need. His goals were related to law and justice and potentially advocating for children in the court system.

Cole is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Anargyros and Polyxenia Mantas and his maternal grandfather, Robert Lannan. He is survived his father, Nick Mantas (Lauren), his mother Patricia Mantas Lico (Dave), one sister, Arianna Mantas. He is also survived by is grandmother, Feona Lannan. Cole's step siblings are Emilie, Brandon and Averie Lico and Ben and Doug Gehlbach. His aunts are Kimberly Fields, Jill Lannan (Beth), and Yiota (Vagelis) Filias and cousins, Matt, Drew, Xenia and Panayiotis. His godparents are Christina Pullos and Nick Papadakis.

Private services will be held at Milton Fields in Milton with a Celebration of Life set for a future date in Athens, GA.
