Obituary

Anne Richardson Lee, who resided in Alpharetta, GA, went to be with Jesus on July 8, 2023. Anne was born on January 29, 1948 to Sterling Richardson and Anne Richardson in Atlanta, GA. She attended Mary Baldwin College in Virginia and majored in Political Science. While working for a Senator in Washington, DC, she went a blind date with Aubrey Lee (later Senior😉). After an unforgettable night "painting the town," they went "steady" before marrying on July 29, 1972 - happy 51st anniversary! Anne and Aubrey lived in Richmond, VA and then Springfield, MA before heading south to Macon, GA. They finally settled in Alpharetta, GA, where they raised their 3 children: Anne Tucker Ford (John), Sterling Norris (Matt) and Aubrey Lee Jr (Jamie). Anne stayed home to raise her children when they were young and simultaneously ventured out into entrepreneurial opportunities such as a blind consulting business, and a shoe-bow business called "Twinkle Toes." Eventually, Anne established a career as an administrative assistant at Chattahoochee High School and then Milton High School. There, her bright smile and infectious joy for the Lord was poured on those she interacted with on a daily basis.

While Anne enjoyed hobbies such as sewing and gardening in her earlier years, her all-time favorite past-time was spending time with family. After her relationship with the Lord, her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family. "Millie", as her grandchildren affectionately call her, has 8 grandchildren: Anna-Kate (13), Liza-Grace (9), Adeline (7), Caleb (whom went to be with Jesus when he was 3 months old), Emelia (6), Toby (5), Abigail (3) and Oliver (2). Millie loved hearing all the chaos, love, and laughter at family gatherings. She loved singing songs, rocking grandbabies, and taking her grandkids on infamous shopping sprees to Target. Anne will be sorely missed and loved by her husband; children; grandchildren; and siblings Sterling Richardson, Jr. and Gene Rowe. She will also be missed by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Anne never knew a stranger! Anne imparted God's joy, love, and laughter with those she interacted: close family, students and faculty at her school, people who served her food, or perfect strangers. She is a beautiful light that continues to shine. It is our hope we will follow her example and continue to shine in her absence.

Welcome to a scholarship fund to honor the memory of Anne Richardson Lee. Anne was an administrative assistant at Milton High School for 25 years. She had a passion for young people and never hesitated to help them when they needed it. Liver cancer recently claimed her but her family wishes to keep her memory of service alive. Funds donated here will go to a yearly scholarship fund to assist one Milton High School senior with college tuition
