Obituary

Mrs. Anne Theresa McShane of Milton, Georgia died peacefully on April 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Anne was born on January 10, 1933 in New York City, New York to the late Edward Larke and MaryEllen (Dunne) Larke.

Anne was happily married to Maurice Patrick McShane. After only a few years of marriage "Mac" died from lung cancer, leaving Anne a widow at the young age of 29. Anne and Mac were blessed with two beautiful children: daughter, Maureen Liqua (McShane) and son, Maurice Patrick McShane Jr. After Mac's death, Anne enrolled in the Nursing Program at Middlesex County School of Nursing graduating number one in her class. During these years Anne continued to manage and provide a great deal of love to the two little ones while she studied and provided a caring home life for the three of them.

Fortunately, during the late 60's Sacred Heart School was in need of a School Nurse. Anne was able to serve as School Nurse in the same building where Maureen and Pat attended class daily. During her fifteen year tenure Anne was a very active member of the SHS Community. She was Chairwoman of "The Tommy O'Meara Fund". This was a town wide fundraiser to assist the family while Tommy was at Sloan-Kettering Hospital suffering from leukemia. Tommy was one of several O'Meara children who went to
Sacred Heart School. Anne along with Pat Sheedy ran and taught Irish Dancing at "The McShane/Sheedy School of Irish Dance". Classes were held at the American Legion on Friday afternoons, after school. Most of their students came from Sacred Heart.

Anne is survived by her two children, Maureen McShane Liqua (Michael J.) Alpharetta,
Georgia, and Maurice Patrick McShane Jr. (Verna), Yardville, New Jersey; two devoted
grandsons, Michael James (Jimmy) Liqua, Matthew Ryan Liqua both from Alpharetta, Georgia; Anne's adoring four-legged pup, "Bridget"; and dearest friend, Patricia "Pat" Kall,
Milton, Georgia.

A Celebration of Life for Anne will be held in June at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield, New Jersey.
