Avis Mae Richards, age 94, of Alpharetta, GA passed away on December 28, 2023.
Avis will be remembered for her longtime service as a food service provider for Fulton County Schools. She was also a member of the Longstreet Baptist Church choir.
Avis was preceded in death by her first husband, J. L. Richards; her second husband, Elip Spence; her sister, Velva Ree Nichols; her brothers, Leon Byers, Joe Byers, and Bobby Byers; and her son, Jerry Richards. She is survived by her son, Stanley Richards and his wife, Peggy; her four grandchildren, Jacqueline Richards, Kathleen Richards, Brian Richards, and Samantha Richards; her brother, Milton Byers; and her sisters, Marjorie Heard, Barbara Dempsey, and Edith Lively.
Avis's family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Northside Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation, in the chapel at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery.
