Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Ann Anderson (née MacKenzie), age 77, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Alpharetta, Georgia. Born on January 30, 1948, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Barbara lived a life marked by compassion, dedication to family, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.

Barbara was the beloved wife of Brian and the devoted mother of David and Diana. Her love for her family was unwavering and evident in every aspect of her life. She shared a close bond with her brother Gordon MacKenzie, his wife Darlene MacKenzie, and their daughter Megan MacKenzie Bisgaard, wife of Jesper. Barbara also had a special place in her heart for the newest member of the family, David's wife Kassie.

Barbara loved nothing more than to spend time with family and friends enjoying the beautiful weather around the pool while listening to music. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, fan of the Atlanta Braves, and a fantastic cook. You could often find Barbara watching the wildlife in her backyard and admiring nature. She especially loved getting together with family around the holidays to celebrate and share a good homecooked meal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon MacKenzie and Florence MacKenzie (née Brown), as well as her sister Gayle Katovitch (née MacKenzie). Their memories remained close to Barbara's heart throughout her life.

Barbara will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was always thinking of others—offering kindness without hesitation and support without condition. Her warmth and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
