Carole Ann Wilson, a beacon of love, warmth, and joyful spirit, peacefully passed away on October 12, 2026. Born to Gertrude and Richard Vaughan in Brooklyn, NY, Carole’s life journey was defined by her deep devotion to her family, her unshakable faith, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Growing up in Brooklyn alongside her brothers Donald and Richard and her sisters Barbara, Jeanette, and Judy, Carole learned early on the importance of a close-knit family. On October 18, 1964, she married the love of her life, George Howard Wilson Jr., beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned 59 remarkable years until George’s passing in December 2023. Together, their adventures took them from Long Island to Scottsdale, Arizona, back to Long Island, and ultimately to Georgia in 1990, building a home filled with love and laughter at every step.
Carole was the devoted and cherished mother to Tim (Maureen), Samantha, Matt (Keri), and Caroline Morris (Scott), as well as the deeply proud and adoring grandmother of ten grandchildren, who brought her boundless joy. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her husband George, her precious infant daughter, Wendy, her brothers Donald and Richard, and her sisters Barbara and Jeanette.
Carole’s life was a rich tapestry woven with warmth, faith, and cherished traditions. A devout Roman Catholic, her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She shared this dedication with her community, regularly volunteering to teach Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes and instill values of kindness and love in young hearts.
Though she never learned to swim and held a fear of the water, her absolute devotion to her family meant she rarely missed a weekend sailing trip aboard the Carole Ann through Northport Harbor and the Long Island Sound. She cherished annual February trips with George to Disney World, where she delighted in the "magic" and truly embraced it as the happiest place on earth.
An avid reader and movie enthusiast, Carole was exceptionally fond of mysteries—a love she fondly remembered inheriting from her mother. Above all, she found her greatest happiness in cooking for family get-togethers and surrounding herself with those she loved most.
Carole’s legacy of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and bright sense of humor will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory will endure as a testament to a life lived fully in love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
The wake will be held at Northside Chapel on November 4th from 4:00-7:00 PM. The funeral mass will begin at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Chanel November 5th.
