Carolyn Lee Strickland, age 80, passed away peacefully in her loving home in Roswell, Georgia on the morning of Tuesday, March 24th, 2026.
She was born on January 22, 1946 in Fitzgerald, Georgia. She attended Fitzgerald High School and then went on to receive her nursing degree at the Macon Hospital School of Nursing. While at the Macon Hospital, she met the love of her life, Dr. Grady W. Strickland, Jr. She was the President of the Roswell Women's Club, helped with Meals on Wheels for many years, and was on the meal committee at Rock Springs Baptist Church, where she was a loyal member. She was an avid tennis player, a loving wife, a caring mother, a devoted grandmother, a beautiful friend, and a faithful servant of the Lord. She was the sunshine of our family, and she will be deeply missed and cherished forever. She was preceded in death by husband Dr. Grady W. Strickland, Jr.; parents, Carl and Bertha Lee; brother, David Lee; sister, Shirley (Phillip) Heard, and nephew, Phil Heard. She is survived by her son, John (Joley) Strickland; grandchildren, Mason and Mabrie Strickland; brother, James (Nan) Lee; sister-in-law, Anita Lee, and many loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Northside Chapel (12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA. 30076) on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 2PM. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 6-8PM and on Friday from 1pm until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Green Lawn Cemetery directly after the memorial service. The family will be graciously accepting flowers or donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name.
