Linda Cheryl Lyle Butler of Roswell, Georgia went to be with our Lord on November 5, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born June 21, 1944, in Atlanta Georgia to Byron Eugene Lyle and Sarah Frances Reece Lyle.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carlton Butler, and her parents Eugene and Sarah Lyle. She is survived by her daughters Lori Adkison (Robert) and Lynne Chalkiadi (Eric), Vickie Mabry (Gary), sons Richard Butler (Darlene), and Mike Butler (Bethany); and her sister Renee Lyle (Lamar). She was the proud grandmother of Jacob, Isaac, Hannah, Claire, Eve, Ryan, and Kevin, and great-grandmother of seven.
Cheryl spent over 37 years working with children of all ages. She was very talented and had a natural talent and gift for teaching, with artistic abilities that shone through in everything she did. She especially loved working with babies and often spoke fondly of their unique personalities.
Cheryl also loved gardening and could be found in her backyard during the spring and fall, tending to her flowers and plants. In the fall, she and Carlton enjoyed trips to the mountains to admire the colorful leaves and visiting the fresh vegetable stands. During the summer, she cherished her time at South Side Beach in South Carolina- not only for the ocean, but also the antique shops and restaurants.
Most of all Cheryl loved being with her family. She treasured every moment spent with them. Her love for her family and her faith in God were the guiding lights of her life. She will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:00pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors with the funeral to follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
