Christopher Lynn Farnsworth

Christopher Lynn Farnsworth, 52, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on September 25, 1973, in Brockport, New York, and grew up in Roswell, Georgia.

Chris graduated from Milton High School and went on to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he majored in Arabic and Middle Eastern studies with a minor in nuclear engineering. An avid athlete, he excelled in basketball and football and played on the West Point basketball team. Following graduation, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army.

Chris served as an Air Defense Artillery officer from May 1999 until November 2006. During his military career, he served as a PATRIOT battery commander in the Republic of South Korea. He also served as an operations officer supporting coalition operations in Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Chris attained the rank of captain before leaving the Army to pursue new interests and opportunities in civilian life.

Chris had a lifelong fondness for children. Later in life, he found great happiness coaching children’s basketball and flag football, sharing his love of sports and encouraging young athletes to believe in themselves.

Chris is survived by his wife, Fabricia Noleto Farnsworth; his children, Aarolynn, Mia, and Torben; his mother, Karen Farnsworth; and his siblings, Alan (Ellen), Camille, Aime (Jerry), Kyle (Maria), and Joye (Matt). He was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col (Ret) E. Lynn Farnsworth.

His wife, Fabricia, writes:

“Chris was deeply loved and was a unique, hilarious person. He taught our children not to be afraid of anything, always encouraging them and telling them there were no limits to achieving their dreams or overcoming their ‘enemies.’”

Chris will be remembered by his family, friends, fellow soldiers, and all those whose lives he touched. His service to his country, his humor, and the memories he created with those who loved him will remain an enduring part of his legacy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 11AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will be held at Georgia National Cemetery at 2PM. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:30AM to 11AM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors.
