Mrs. Claris Collett Stewart, age 85 of Milton, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023. She was born on July 23, 1937 in Milton, Georgia, to the late Luther Collett and Era Hudson Collett.
Claris is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin J.C. Stewart, as well as her sons, Phil and Terry Stewart, her daughter, Angela Tappe and her grandson, Tyler Matthews.
Claris is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Trina Stewart, her four grandchildren; Joshua Saunders (Brian Basinger), Heidi (Kenneth) Ewing, Jacob and Tanner Stewart, and her two great-grandchildren; Kenny and Arabella Ewing. She is also survived by her sister Marlene White of Canton, brother, Ray and Annette Collett of Canton, sister, Revonda and Jim Evans of Milton; sister, Pam and Bill Cloud of Canton.
Claris loved working in her flower gardens as well as her vegetable garden each summer. She enjoyed visiting others and having others visit her. She spent many years as a seamstress and created many beautiful quilts her family still enjoys today. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Trinity Manor Personal Care Home, 3200 Trinity Church Rd. Canton, GA. 30115 or Willowbrook Hospice, 162 W. Main St., Suite 306, Cartersville, GA. 30120. The wonderful caregivers at both organizations cared for Claris as if she were their own mother and the family is very grateful for their amazing care.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 2PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2PM to 7PM and Monday from 12PM to 2PM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors.
