Mary Colleen Thornton of Roswell, GA was born on March 4, 1944, in Houston, Texas to Wesley and Effie Ann Ratcliffe. Colleen entered into rest on September 2, 2024.

Colleen was full of life. She enjoyed spending time outside in her beautiful garden, attending book club and scrabble group events in the neighborhood. She was full of life, known for her wisdom in any situation and her expressive storytelling. She loved working out and did so almost every single day, but what truly brought Colleen the most joy was her family. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley Ratcliffe and Effie Ann Kearns; and her daughter, Sandra and son, Ronald Muckelroy.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William Thornton; her children, Stephen Muckelroy (Betsy) of Houston, Kristin Salak (Jeff) of McKinney, Scott Muckelroy (Annette) of Houston, and Renee Johnson (Rob) of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Justin Ingle (Erika), Brent Muckelroy (Cami), Nikole Moyer (Connor), Jessica Gemmill (Ross), Stephani Mumma (Sean), Celeste Salak, Sophia Salak, Isabelle Salak, Blake Pellerin (Sarah), and Fiona Collins; her great grandchildren, Brianna, Dylan, Gavin, Colby, Reese, Sutton, Silas, Winnie, Tristan, Eva, Henry, Ellie, Everett, Neal, Cheyenne, Tyler, Zoey, Emalyn, Benny, Andrew, and Maddie; and her siblings, Suzi Brown (Jeff), Elizabeth Staha (Joe), Rita Stoker, Patrick Ratcliffe (Cheryl), and Dennis Ratcliffe (Jana).

Colleen's family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Northside Chapel, 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075.
