Willard Craig Miller, age 69, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025. Known for his quick wit, contagious smile, and generous heart, Craig lived a full life anchored by faith, family, and a deep love for storytelling.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, and raised in Columbus, Georgia, Craig built a life rooted in hard work, kindness, and connection. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome—always ready with a story, a laugh, or a good meal shared among friends and family.
A proud graduate of the University of Georgia, Craig spent more than 40 years leading Craig Miller Productions in Atlanta, Georgia, helping to shape Georgia's film industry into the powerhouse it is today. His tireless work and mentorship of young filmmakers left a lasting legacy. Earlier this year, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Georgia Film and Television at the Athens Film Festival—an honor that reflected both his professional impact and his passion for his home state.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Carolyn Bishop Miller, and his children: Megan Low (Tad), Ben (Shea), Hamilton, Mallory Freeman (Ryan), Alex (Paige), and Carson. He adored his seven grandchildren—Maddox and Reese Low; Shaw, Collins, and Tucker Nile Miller; and Hayes and Ryan Layne Freeman—and was joyfully awaiting the arrival of his eighth, baby Turner Miller, in March. And of course his best friend and the best dog, Walter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Pat Miller. He is also survived by his brothers Tom (Caroline) and John (Kathlyn).
A celebration of Craig's life will be held on October 19, 2025 at 2:30 pm with a visitation from 1:30pm-2:30pm at Roswell Presbyterian Church (755 Mimosa Blvd). The family requests that donations be made to The Craig Miller Scholarship Fund in Craig's memory. (Instructions below)
Craig's larger-than-life spirit, boundless humor, and deep faith will live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched. Though a great light has gone out on this earth, heaven has gained one of its brightest.
