Daniel Charles Feruck, 88, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024. He was born September 12, 1936 in McKeesport, PA, the youngest son of the late Vasil and Anna (Kurta) Feruck.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Feruck and their 2 children, Daniel Feruck (Susan) and Erin Feruck; their grandchildren, Abigail and Elizabeth and many nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his brother, Michael and sister, Emily.

Dan was a 1954 graduate from Duquesne High School where his passion for basketball began, earning the moniker as a "slender basketball celebrity." He was also voted the "Best All Around" senior superlative for his athletic skills, drama club participation and dancing "like Fred Astaire' according to his classmates. He took his basketball talents to Slippery Rock State College and started for four years and served as team captain his junior and senior years. He graduated in 1961 with a B.S. in Education and later received his Masters degree in Education from Glassboro State College in 1967.

He began his teaching career locally in Moon Township but soon moved his family to Pennsville, NJ and taught in the Pennsville school district until retiring in December 1998. Dan began coaching the JV boys basketball team in 1978 and then assumed the Varsity boys head coach role in 1980 and continued coaching until 1992. He grew the program to new heights and absolutely loved his players!

Dan was an avid golfer, a clear understatement! He was known as the "Commissioner" at Hercules CC. Love of golf was something he shared with Carol and they formed wonderful and lasting friendships over the years. He began playing in the early 70's at Sakima Country Club and then continued at Hercules/Delaware National Country Club in Wilmington, DE starting in 1989 and then finally as a member of Green Valley Country Club in Greenville, SC until 2012. He still has the only recorded Hole in One through the Eastern/Central time zones on 1/1/2000.

Dan was a devoted Steelers fan through all the highs and lows; something his family will proudly continue!! He fortunately attended the Super Bowl victory in 2006 vs the Seattle Seahawks!! Here We Go!!

The family is planning a celebration of life for Dan in early 2025 in the Wilmington, DE area.
