Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. David Byrd announces his passing on Monday, January 20, 2025. He was 46 years of age and lived in Alpharetta, Georgia. David was born on July 19, 1978, to Joe and Debbie Byrd.

David graduated from Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia, in 1996 and went on to attend Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University. He spent his career working in IT doing database administration and was a Director of Business Intelligence. David loved watching documentaries and taking his dog, Douglas, for walks. He enjoyed old TV shows and collecting unique antiques from the 1940s and 50s.

David had a wonderful sense of humor and a very quick wit. He connected with people by making them laugh and most people's best memory of him involves his sense of humor. He was kind and caring and was the type of person that really put thought into gifts that he gave people. He had a special bond with his nieces and nephew and they always thought of him as their cool and funny uncle. He loved hearing stories about their day and intentionally getting the details wrong to make them laugh. He would always remember the small details about their life and friends and get them to share more stories with him. He even bought a hypoallergenic dog for himself after researching the best dog for his niece's allergies.

David was a protective and supportive big brother to his only sibling, a younger sister. They were only one grade apart and she followed him to the same college because she knew he would be there to look out for her. They had a special bond and knew they could count on each other throughout the years.

David battled alcoholism for many years. Throughout his battle he was still a great uncle and caring person. His humor never stopped and still would do his best to make you laugh.

He is survived by his parents Joe and Debbie Byrd, sister Jennifer Miers, brother-in-law Josh Miers, nieces Lily and Stella Miers, and nephew Logan Miers.
