David G. Sammons, of Roswell, Georgia, age 90, passed away August 7, 2006. Dave was born in Sardis, Georgia on April 6, 1916. He joined the Navy in 1942 where he was a member of the Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II. After serving his country in the Philippines, Dave moved to Cincinnati to join his brother where he worked for an envelope manufacturer. There he met his future wife, Mary. After moving back to Atlanta in 1951, he and Mary were the founders of Specialty Mailers, a printing and envelope manufacturer. Dave's main passion was fishing. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Mary. He is survived by 3 daughters, Miriam S. McGee (Chuck), Karen S. Lewis (Doug), and Melissa S. Hughes, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grand children. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 from 11-1 with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 at Northside Chapel in Roswell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Georgia Chapter, 1800 Lake Park Drive, Suite 101, Smyrna, Georgia 30080.
