Obituary

Dolores Helen DeGarde, affectionately known as Dee, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on August 10, 2024, in Woodstock, GA, after a courageous battle with stage four pancreatic cancer. Born on December 7, 1941, in Queens, NY, Dolores was the beloved daughter of the late Conboy family.
Dolores was a devoted wife to Ron DeGarde, with whom she shared 57 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, and community. As a dedicated church member and Sunday school teacher, Dolores was a faithful servant of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her commitment to the church extended to the choir, where her voice added to the harmonious praise. Dolores had an infectious love for her Lord and was known for her gift of hospitality, welcoming all with warmth and kindness. She was a patient, caring, and loving person whose life was a true reflection of the love of Christ.
In her professional life, Dolores worked as an executive assistant for Damron Chemicals, where she was valued for her efficiency and dedication. Outside of work, she found joy in her family, especially in her children and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Dolores loved reading and studying her Bible, drawing strength and inspiration from its teachings.
Dolores is survived by her four cherished children, Veronica DeGarde, Pam Morris (Jerry), Donna Helfrick, and Ron DeGarde, Jr (Kristin); and her treasured grandchildren: Jake, Jenna, Joanna, and Matt Morris; Patricia and Donovan Helfrick, and Abigail, Alyssa, Andrew, and Austin DeGarde. Dolores' memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 1:30 pm at Lebanon Baptist Church, 11250 Crabapple Rd, Roswell, GA 30075. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Northside Chapel, 12050 Crabapple Rd, Roswell, GA 30075, and again on August 14 at 12:30 pm at Lebanon Baptist Church, prior to the service.
Dolores' favorite Bible verse was Galatians 2:20: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." This verse beautifully encapsulates the faith that sustained her throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, Big Bend Chapter ( www.bigbendcef.org ) and/or Ron DeGarde Ministries ( www.rdmin.org/donate ) in memory of Dolores.
