Donald Slappey, age 74, of Roswell, Georgia passed away Friday, July 25, 2025. Don was born July 18, 1951 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, son to the late Willard and Helene Slappey.

Forever a Georgia Bulldog, Don attended the University of Georgia, graduating in class of 1974. There, he met the love of his life, Debbie, who he married in August 1977. Together, they shared a love for travel, dining, and classic rock music. Their marriage was blessed with two children – Matthew and Samantha – and three grandchildren.

Always the life of the party, Don was known for his warm sense of humor, his epic stories, and his signature drink, always in a Styrofoam cup. Don was an avid golfer, bowler and skier.

Don is survived by his wife, Debbie, his son Matt and his daughters Summer and Avery (due September 2025) and his daughter Samantha Hamada (Zach) and her daughter Cleo. He is also survived by his three brothers Jack (Cindi), Jim (Yvonne), and Bill (Chris) and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service for Don will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 31 at the Northside Chapel (12050 Crabapple Rd, Roswell, Georgia). A reception will follow the service at 3 p.m. at Brookfield Country Club (100 Willow Run Rd, Roswell, Georgia) – Don's home away from home.
