It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald "Don" Maurice Stapp in Johns Creek, GA at the age of 81. He was born July 31, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to Maurice Lacy Stapp and Bernice Emaline (Reeser) Gray.

Don graduated in 1961 from Male High School in Louisville, Kentucky. After serving in the Air Force, Don went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from the University of Louisville and later an MBA from Aurora University.

Don applied his chemical knowledge first in the lab and then in the field. While an introvert at heart, Don was a skilled sales leader who forged deep customer relationships across 50 countries and 49 states.

Don will be remembered as an avid learner, a great encourager, and a man of strong faith. He was a student of theology, politics, history, and global affairs. Anyone that found themselves in a discussion with him quickly realized what a deep and thoughtful thinker he was, and left the room more educated as a result. His superpower was his unconditional support and encouragement which had his loved ones believing they could achieve anything. Don had a strong and enduring faith in Jesus Christ that he spent his live developing. He tried his best to model these values.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Louise Jo (Maier) Stapp. They have two children, Kristine (Sal) Abbate of Alpharetta, GA and Joseph (Jennifer) Stapp of Aurora, IL. They have five treasured grandchildren, Olivia Abbate, Andrew Abbate, Riley Stapp, Justin Stapp, and Sydney Stapp. His sister, Linda (Dr. Lance) Wiist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry Stapp and his brother William Kohler.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Northside Chapel located at 12050 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, Georgia. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Larry Dean at 12:00 o'clock. A committal service will ensue at Georgia National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
