Douglas Clifton Curling passed away on July 25th, 2026. He was 72 years old.Doug was born on May 17, 1954, in Vienna, Virginia, to Betty Conner Curling and Calvin Thomas Curling. He spent his childhood in Northern Virginia before attending Virginia Tech, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed a love for Blacksburg and the Hokie community. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1976, followed by a Master of Accountancy in 1977.Doug built an accomplished career spanning more than four decades, holding leadership positions at Del Monte Foods, RJR Nabisco, Equifax, and ultimately ChoicePoint, where he served as President, Chief Operating Officer, and Director. During his tenure, he oversaw operations, led dozens of strategic acquisitions, and helped guide the company's growth through its own acquisition in 2008. Even after retiring from executive leadership, Doug remained an active and trusted advisor, serving on both public and private boards. At the time of his passing, he was serving on the boards of The Cottage School, Progressive Leasing, and Carpe Data.While Doug was widely respected for his business judgment and leadership, his greatest success was never measured in titles or accomplishments but it was found in the people he loved. Family was the center of his life and the source of his greatest pride. He was passionate about his family, his Roswell community, music, baseball, and college football and shared those passions with everyone he met.Doug is survived by his wife Donna, his children Ashley, Michael (Randi), Matt, his grandchildren, Avery, Emmy, Coco, and Liam, his brother Tom, his aunt Margaret, and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
