Douglas Scott Gregory, age 58 of Roswell, Georgia, passed away March 2, 2024, three days short of his 59th birthday. Douglas was born March 5, 1965, in Richmond, Virginia, to Robert W. Gregory and Virginia Carol Moore Gregory. Douglas was a gifted athlete excelling in many sports, winning three Georgia State High School Wrestling Championships. He graduated from The Lovett School and attended Clemson University where he continued his wrestling career.
Douglas loved life. He had a big smile and a bigger heart. To know Douglas was to love him. He was a big prankster, playing practical jokes on family members and friends. He was also a grill master. Douglas could usually be found every weekend grilling or cooking for family, neighborhood friends or work gatherings. His house was the neighborhood gathering place and everyone was welcome. Douglas and his wife, Kathy, also loved to travel, visiting many resort spots in Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, with his favorite destination being Cayo Leventado in Samana, Dominican Republic. He was a valued employee at Atlanta Beverage Company, holding numerous positions over his 28-year career.
Douglas was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Carol Gregory, and is survived by his father, Robert W. Gregory, his beloved wife, Susan Kathleen Robbins Gregory, three daughters; Crystal Nicole Gregory, Cherish Ann Gregory, Ciera Scott Gregory Spain (husband Nick) and son, Hunter Douglas Gregory, eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, brother, Thomas B. Gregory (wife Beth), and sister, Kimberly Gregory Johnson.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 2:00PM-5:00PM at Mountain Creek Pavilion.
