Dudley William Garrett, Jr. age 89 of Milton passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025. Mr. Garrett was born November 14, 1935 to Dudley William and Katherine Marie Garrett in Atlanta. He graduated from Bass High School in Atlanta and went on to graduate from Georgia State University in 1959. He graduated in 1967 from Atlanta Law School. Mr. Garrett was a member of Kappa Sigma Chi. He served as a Captain Artillery in the US Army. Mr. Garrett was an Assistant Solicitor with the Fulton County DA, a Magistrate Judge, a member of the American Bar Association and the founder of the North Fulton Bar Association. Mr. Garrett was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Alpharetta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley William Garrett, Sr. and Katherine Marie Garrett. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marie Dolores Garrett; children, Dudley William Garrett III (Jodi Schulman Garrett), Christine Dolores Hilliard (Jeff Hilliard) and Russell Carlton Garrett (Malika Garrett); grandchildren, Brandon James McCraw, Christine Brooke Hilliard, Anna Marie Swank, Miles Mayon Garrett and Aalia Meera Garrett; great-grandchildren, Brodie McCraw, William Lawson Swank and Hadley Annette Swank. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11am at First Baptist Church of Alpharetta. A graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15 from 5-7pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Wednesday from 10-11am at First Baptist Church of Alpharetta.
