Elizabeth "Betty" Rosebush
Carlise

Birmingham United Methodist Church
Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Betty Rosebush Carlisle passed away peacefully, at home, in bed, surrounded by her family on Tuesday Oct. 20, 2026 at the age of 82. Born in Louisville, Ky., she made her home in Roswell, Ga and then Canton, Ga. She was a longtime schoolteacher at Crabapple & Northwestern Middle Schools. She was married to her first husband Richard Rosebush for 32 years, who passed away in 2001. She then found love a second time and married Don Carlisle in 2008. At the time of her passing, they were just about to celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary. She lived her life grounded in her Faith, her family, and her friends. She was most proud of her grandchildren, as they were her favorite topic. Never without a sense of humor or fresh lipstick, she was cherished by so many. The sheer number of friendships she had was the greatest testament to who Betty was. She loved this country, dogs, spending time with her many friends, football, chardonnay, and especially her Don. Her laughter was contagious, and it will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her husband Don, her daughter Darby Struchtemeyer (Derek), her son Richie Rosebush( Lindsay), stepdaughters Casey Haarlow (Jeff) and Catherine Carlisle, and grandchildren Logan Struchtemeyer, 1LT Jackson Rosebush (Kaylee), Sydney Struchtemeyer, Adeline Rosebush, Molly and Will Haarlow, and Olivia and Matthew Stull. And we cannot forget her dog Ozzie, who was always by her side.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life at Birmingham United Methodist Church on Monday, December 21, 2026 at 11am. The service will be livestreamed through the church’s website for those who cannot attend. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to any church or organization that provides to the less fortunate at Christmas.
