It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emily C Bailey on June 3, 2026, in Canton Georgia. Beloved mother of four and grandmother of 5. Known for her love and devotion to her family, quiet strength, and dedication to her church and friends. Her favorite joys were spending time on the beach, in the garden, reading, cheering on the Atlanta Braves and most especially cherishing every moment with her five grandsons. Emily was born in Two Egg, Florida and graduated from Greenwood High School. On February 3, 1957 she married John Bailey. Emily was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Canton, Georgia for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Bailey; parents, Jasper and Gladys Culver; siblings, Sam Culver, Marie Green (twin sister), Della Stokes and Alice Evans. Emily is survived by her daughters, Stephanie McCarty (Garry), Melaine Stokes (Sandy) and Amy Godsey (Ken); son, John Bailey; grandchildren, Alex McCarty, Josh Bailey, Michael Stokes, Conner Stokes and Jack Godsey; brother, Bob Culver, sisters, Francis Cloud and Hazel Hollis. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10:30am in the funeral home chapel. A private family burial will take place following the service at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 4:30 to 7PM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA. 30075. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in her memory to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
