Eugene James Dubnik passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his home following a long battle with heart failure.
Gene was born in Diephaltz, Germany on August 11, 1946. He came to the US with his parents and 2 younger brothers in 1951. He graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia. He was a proud Vietnam veteran and served his country in the Army from 1969 until 1972, when he was honorably discharged.
Gene resided in Roswell with his wife Alice (28 years) and spent many years working in commercial real estate. Gene was a lifelong fisherman, enjoyed tennis, and was an avid reader. Nothing was more important to Gene than his family, and he delighted in portraying Santa at Christmas family gatherings. He loved life and shared his positive outlook with everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents Nikolai & Maria (Mys) Dubnik, first wife Janice (Carter) Dubnik and Brother Jessie Dubnik.
Survivors include wife, Alice Jones, son Brian Dubnik of Roswell, daughter Carmen Morris (Daniel) of Greensboro, NC., brothers Andrew Dubnik (Brenda) of Williamsport, MD, Tony Dubnik (Cathy) of Talmo, GA, Eddie Dubnik (Susan) of Hoschton, GA, Steve Dubnik (Claire) of Rochester, NY and Donald Dubnik (Lisa) of Murrayville, GA; sisters Tricia Witt (Steve) of Alpharetta, GA, Angie Holland of Cumming, GA, Helen Harbuck (Bob) of Monroe, GA, Kathy Novak (Paul) of Ballwin, MO, 10 nephews, 12 nieces, 7 great nephews, and 8 great nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Monday, October 13, 2025 at Northside Chapel in Roswell. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Roswell. Father Adam Ozimek will officiate. There will be a small reception to follow from 11 AM – 12:30 PM at St. Andrew Parish Hall, where memories can be shared by all.
VA committal service to follow at Georgia National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
