Evelyn Alice Holcombe, aged 95, answered God's call peacefully on July 31, 2023, in Canton, GA. She was born on February 15, 1928 in Milton, GA, to her esteemed parents, the late John and Mozille Maloney. Remembered for her unwavering devotion and loving spirit, Evelyn was a treasured wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
Evelyn shared her life and bore witness to great strength, as she remained steadfast by her husband's side as a loving military wife. Through trials and triumphs, she found solace in her strong bond with her cherished family and extended her nourishing care to everyone who crossed her path.
Loved ones who will continue to honor Evelyn's legacy include her loving sister, Pat Hembree; devoted son, Allen Holcombe; and dear daughter in law Randi-Lea who devoted much time & service to her care. Her beloved grandchildren, Alissa, Stacey, Gretchen, Sean, Jessi, Josh, Johnny, and JeAnna; as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Wesley, Allen, Conner, Gabriel, Ari, Milo, Gus, Abe, Jared, and Rhett, and her great-great granddaughter, Charlotte.
Evelyn was reunited in heaven with her father, John Maloney; her mother, Mozille Maloney; her husband, Jasper Holcombe; her beloved daughter, Anita Alley; and her adored grandson, Mark Holcombe, who tirelessly watch over their earthly family.
Educated at Parkersburg High School, Evelyn continued to learn and grow through her lifelong dedication to spiritual enrichment. A seeker of solace and faith, she found companionship in fellow worshippers at Northside Baptist Church and First Baptist of Alpharetta, as her devotion remained anchored in God's embrace.
Nurturing more than just spirits, Evelyn sought joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as cultivating her culinary skills, tending to a blossoming garden, and the excitement of a competitive game at the bowling alley. Moreover, her commitment to service and charitable endeavors adorned her life, evident through her allegiance to the Eastern Star organization.
To pay your respects to Evelyn and support those mourning her passing, a heartfelt service will be held at Northside Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, August 3, 2023. The visitation will commence at 10 am, followed by a dignified ceremony at 11 am within the chapel. Please note that there won't be any graveside services.
