Evelyn Christopher Walker was born in Oconee County, Georgia, April 10, 1926 to Emmett C. and Myrt Evans Christopher. She passed away on July 13, 2023.
Evelyn and her husband, Paul, moved from Union Point, GA, to Warrenton, GA, in 1957 where she worked in a number of textile plants and raised their daughter, Paula. In 1987 Paul and Evelyn moved to Alpharetta to be near their daughter, and Evelyn began her second career, working in the cafeteria at Alpharetta Elementary School. That career spanned 20 years, and she retired at the age of 81. She was beloved by the students and staff at AES.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her twin sister, Elsie Harper, a brother and his wife, Frank and Inez Christopher, and a sister and her husband, Jane and Billy Aiken. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Billy Moore, two grandsons and their families, Matthew and Kanha Davis, Emma and Becca, Michael and Elloa Davis, Addison and Lincoln, two step grandsons and their families, Chanc and Tracey Moore, Will, Matt, and Emily, Billy and Katie Moore, Hadley, Wade, and Juliette, nieces and nephew, Barbara Bunch, Gwen Greenway, Jimmy and Gayle Christopher, and great nephew, Jason Greenway and his family.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 on Monday, July 24th at Northside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Davis conducting the service. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 until the hour of the service.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 25th, at 10:30 am at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery in Watkinsville, GA.
