Frank D. Cox, age 82 of Roswell, GA passed away May 21, 2023 from complications due to Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents Artie Barrett Cox and John Denver Cox, and his brother and sister Huie Lee Cox, and Inez Perry. Frank was a graduate of Milton High school and earned an LLB from Woodrow Wilson Law School in Atlanta. He also received a Special Certificate in the Extension Department of Christian Education from Mercer University in 1971.
Frank worked in the Fulton County Tax Office for over 30 years and retired as one of the last appointed Fulton County Tax Commissioners in 1991. After retirement he worked in the Cobb County Tax Commissions Office, retiring again.
Frank served as a Sergeant in the 436 Civil Affairs and 310 Civil Affairs groups of the U.S. Army Reserve Command.
Frank was an ordained Deacon at the age of 21 and was a lifelong member of Crabapple First Baptist Church in Milton, GA where he met and married his wife, Janice 55 years ago. He loved the Lord, his family and always enjoyed meeting and greeting people at the doors on Sunday mornings. His children would say he was the best, a good and honorable man.
In addition to his wife Janice, Frank is survived by his son, Stephen Brent Cox and daughter-in-law Stephanie, daughter Stefanie Cox Hulsey and son-in-law Matt Hulsey and grandchildren Leyton and Carson Hulsey.
Visitation will be at the Northside Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Northside Chapel Funeral Home chapel on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jerry Dockery officiating. Internment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
