Frederick Michael Shepard (Mike), 87, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023. Mike was born on April 18, 1936, in Montclair, New Jersey, the son of the late Frederick Michael Shepard and Margaret (Peggy) Phillips Willis.
Mike moved to Atlanta as a young child, where he married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Liz) Minhinnett. The marriage of more than 56 years was blessed with two children, Frederick Michael Shepard, Jr., and Stacy Shepard Harp. Mike and Liz loved each other very much and enjoyed sharing precious moments together and spending time with their family.
Mike was a graduate of North Fulton High School and attended the University Georgia where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was also a U.S. Navy reservist and was very proud to serve his country. Mike was a long-standing member of the Buckhead Boys Club and enjoyed his annual meeting with longtime friends reminiscing about growing up in Buckhead and enjoying a Varsity Chili Dog with his buddies.
Mike spent most of his adult years working in the electrical supply field for the companies of Thomas & Betts, and Burndy Electrical Services as a District Manager, but his greatest accomplishment was being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mike had a knack for connecting with people and he touched many lives. He never met a stranger and had the most giving nature that he applied to help so many people. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.
Along with his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his wife, Liz, and brother Swayne Shepard. He is survived by his two loving children: son, Frederick Michael Shepard Jr. (Pam) of Dawsonville, Georgia; daughter, Stacy Shepard Harp (Rick), of Milton, Georgia; two siblings, Roger Sims Shepard (Sharry), Charles Atwell Shepard (Marybeth); two grandchildren: Connor Michael Harp and Brooke Elizabeth Harp and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The visitation for Mike Shepard will take place at one o' clock on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Northside Chapel at 12050 Crabapple Rd. Roswell, Georgia. A Graveside service to honor the life of Mike Shepard will be at three o' clock at Green Lawn Cemetery.
