Obituary

Mrs. Gaynell Standridge, age 90, of Roswell, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 22, 2024, surrounded by family. Gaynell was born on April 10, 1934, in Clay County, AL, the daughter of the late Elmer and Bertha Macon.
Gaynell's family moved to Roswell, where she married the love of her life, Forrest Standridge. They were married for 37 years when he passed away in 1988. The marriage was blessed with three children, Jimmy, Terry, and Barbara. Gaynell and Forrest were devoted parents who loved each other and enjoyed sharing precious moments and adventures together. Their family vacations were always to the beaches of Florida or Lake Lanier where they loved camping, fishing, and boating. As "Empty Nesters" they traveled across America visiting family and seeing the countryside.
Gaynell was a gifted piano player and song writer. She wrote many songs and recitations and put many of them into original music. She always said she never wrote a song, instead she recorded her life experiences, and it was as if the lyrics were written on the wall, and she just had to copy them down. Her other favorite hobby was crocheting; she loved making clothes, afghans, bedspreads, and Christmas decorations.
She was a dedicated member of North Roswell Baptist Church for over 60 years where she was the pianist and organist, playing well into her eighties. She read her Bible every day and would share her faith with everyone she met.
She is survived by her three loving children: son, Jimmy Standridge (Katie), of Foley, AL; son, Terry Standridge (Keith), of Centre, AL; daughter, Barbara Blamire (Wayne), of Canton, Georgia; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many friends.
