After a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, George H.(Hank) Brink, Jr., won and went home to be with Jesus on September 10, 2023.
Hank was born in Knoxville, TN on April 24, 1953 to George H. Brink, Sr. And Alice O'Hearn Brink. Hank's legacy lives on through his cherished wife of 41 years, Lois T. Brink, his beloved four children and their spouses and 12 grandchildren: Seth and Mary Alice King (John Samuel, Caleb, Rachel, and Jacob), Stephen and Libba Brink (Joshua, Baker, and Andrew), Joe and Megan Brink (Addison and Barrett), Lucas and Katherine Herrera (Eli, Isabel and one on the way).
Hank was the oldest of nine children and is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Michael Brink and his sister, Barbara Ambrose. He is survived by his stepmother, Orpha Brink, his siblings and their families: John and Colleen Brink, Deborah Brink, James and Carole Brink, Bill and Kathleen Bullock, David and Julie Brink, Stephen and Patricia Brink, John and Leanne Ambrose, and Greg and Ann Marie Brink. His happy place was always on the Tennessee river where he spent countless hours skiing, tubing, exploring and hosting his family and friends.
Hank graduated from Knoxville Catholic High School and the University of Tennessee where he majored in Food Science. He began his career in the late 1970's at Brink's Incorporated in Knoxville. In 1987, he moved to Atlanta, GA where he started Brink Processing Systems, then later changed the name to Cadence Technologies. He shepherded Cadence and the team until 2011 when it became part of Barry-Wehmiller Design Group. He remained with the company until his retirement in 2016. During his career, Hank served on FISA (Food Industry Suppliers Association) in the following positions: Board of Directors (1995-1998), Vice-President (2003-2005), President (2005-2007), Past President (2007-2009). Hank also served on the FPSA (Food Processing and Suppliers Association) Board of Directors as: Chair Foundation Director (2012-2015), Board of Directors at Large (2016-2018), and Beverage Council (2016-2018). Hank loved the Food and Beverage Process Industry, was a well-respected member, and worked hard to improve not only his company, but also the industry as a whole. He enjoyed seeing process systems come together in order to benefit his customers.
As an avid student of God's Word, Hank led and participated in countless Bible studies and discipleship groups. He leaves a legacy of loving and serving the Lord, loving his family, his extended family and his friends. Hank truly possessed a father's heart and an amazing ability to inspire and elevate the individual, whether in business, family, sports, Bible studies, or even just the next adventure. He never met a stranger, his wise counsel, friendly demeanor, love for people, blue eyes and mischievous smile will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at Northside Chapel, 12050 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, GA 30075 on September 22 from 5-7 PM. The Celebration of Life will be held September 23, visitation from 10-11 AM, service 11-12 PM at the same location.
