Mr. George P. Muse, Jr of Atlanta Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023. George was born January 20, 1934 in Anniston, Alabama, the son of the late George P. Muse, Sr and Mary Catherine Lee.

George grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee and graduate McCallie Military Prep school in 1952 and studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. Upon graduation George was commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corp as a 2nd Lieutenant and became a Captain.

George married Lucy Lee Grant in 1956 and moved to Huntsville, Alabama to begin his career as a Test Engineer for NASA's Mercury and Gemini space programs. By 1970, George and Lucy found his way to Marietta, Georgia along with their three children.

George loved his independence and the outdoors. He was an avid tennis player and a fixture at Riverbend apartment tennis courts and the historic Bitsy Grant Tennis Center. George loved hiking, biking, camping, and traveling the world on cruise ships. George developed lectures on the NASA's early years and the future of space exploration.
