Heather Albro, 52, of Milton, Georgia passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024.
Heather was born on March 3, 1972 in LaFayette, New York, a suburb of Syracuse. She was a great athlete, playing soccer for her high school team and playing 'backyard' football with her brother and his friends. She also was a great artist, a skill she would later hand down to her daughter. She graduated from LeMoyne College in Syracuse in 1993 and began her career in Commercial Underwriting at Deutsche Bank. In 1997, she took a new position at GE Capital in Atlanta where she met her future husband, Eric.
Heather and Eric started out as friends before becoming a couple. Eric proposed to Heather on October 10, 1998 at Piedmont Park with Heather's dog Mackenzie in attendance. Heather may have only said 'yes' because she felt bad that Mackenzie had an 'accident' on Eric's lap earlier in the day. They were married in Barbados on October 1, 1999. This year would have been their 25th wedding anniversary.
Heather gave birth to two great kids, Taylor (21) and Colin (18). She loved watching both play lacrosse, playing board games, or wiffle ball in the backyard. She enjoyed laying in the sun and reading, so all the family trips were to a beach or a lake of some kind. Heather was obsessed with cooking shows, literally all of them. She attended Culinary School for a while, but realized she liked watching cooking better than doing it.
Heather is survived by her husband, Eric; her children, Taylor & Colin; her mother, Marcia Collins; and her brother, Jeff Collins. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Collins, and her beloved dogs Cunningham, Mackenzie, and Bailey.
The service for Heather will be held at 10:00 AM on September 11th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 535 Rucker Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004.
Heather was a two-time cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org.
