It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son Hunter Davies Johnson. He passed away on August 10, 2023. He was 39 years old. Hunter was born on August 15, 1983 to Dan and Harriett Johnson. He spent his entire life in Roswell, Georgia. Hunter graduated from Roswell High School. After graduation Hunter attended Georgia Perimeter College for a while and then enrolled in the University of Georgia. Hunter was a senior in the Terry School of Business when he left school. He was one course away from his BBA Degree. Hunter played most all sports growing up but he excelled in baseball. His talent was recognized early on and he was recruited to play on some of the very best travel baseball teams in north Fulton county. He was a tall lanky left handed pitcher and earned a varsity letter playing for the Roswell Hornets. Hunter grew up in the United Methodist Church and was recently attending Roswell United Methodist Church with his parents. Hunter enjoyed the outdoors and was a very good fisherman. He looked forward to trips to the family farm and lake in Paoli, Georgia. He was also an important member of his brother Rob's dirt late model race team.
Hunter had enormous potential in many areas but addiction prevented him from reaching most of his goals He was a kind and loving person who was always thinking about others. He was loved by many friends and family. He loved The Lord.
Hunter leaves behind his mother, Harriett and father, Dan. He also leaves behind his brother, Rob and girlfriend, Katy; aunt Connie and uncle Mike Goodman; uncle Tommy and aunt Carole Johnson; uncle Gary Merriman; uncle Charlie Gue; and many cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved Tuxedo cat "Wombat" who he loved dearly.
A private memorial service and interment will take place in the near future. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Hunter's name to the Roswell United Methodist Church, Commons Project Fund, 814 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell, GA. 30075 or the charity of your choice.
