Ida Clara Muller, age 82, was called to eternal life after a brief battle with cancer on August 5, 2025. Lovingly known by her spouse as 'Schnugga', her children as 'Mami', and her grandchildren as 'Grandmama', Ida set the bar high for kindness and love. She was pre-deceased by her spouse of 46 years, Marcel Muller, her mother Maria Willi, her father, Moritz Caspar, her siblings, Duno Caspar and Anita Eugster, and most recently, John Wolff, whom she raised since the age of two. Ida is survived by her only daughter, Carol Grunert and her spouse, Bill, Grunert (Roswell, GA) and their children, Sarah, Benjamin, and Ryan Grunert; John Wolff's spouse, Lisa Wolff (Hamilton, VA) and daughters, Madison, Hannah and Emma. Ida is also survived by three sisters, Elvira Curti, Sylvia Bergamin and Marietta Balzer, all residing in Switzerland. In addition, Ida is survived by her companion of six (6) years, Lewis Noe, of Roswell, GA.

Born in Savognin, Switzerland on November 6, 1942, Ida, the youngest of six (6), grew up in a small alpine village where she developed a love of nature and the outdoors at a very young age, learning how to ski before the age of three (3). Ida received her formal education as a teacher in Switzerland and taught kindergarten there before emigrating to Montreal, Canada in 1965. That same year, she met the love of her life, Marcel Muller, also a Swiss immigrant residing in Montreal. Marcel's career as a mechanical engineer brought the family to the United States in 1973, where Ida raised her children and learned the English language alongside her family in Bridgeport, WV. Ida was multi-lingual, fluent in Swiss-German, French, Italian, Romansch and English. Ida's passion and gift for languages gave her the opportunity to communicate with many on her travels abroad, meeting new friends during every adventure. Throughout her adult life, Ida used her linguistic background to conduct conversational German classes to Americans.

Ida's love for exploration and nature quickly earned her the title of world traveler, when she and Marcel were transferred on their last foreign assignment to Singapore. After Marcel's retirement, the pair engaged in numerous hiking adventures in America's national parks both out west and on the east coast. Although they resided in WV, AZ, and SC, their extensive travels took them through most of the other fifty (50) states. Upon Marcel's untimely death in 2011, Ida joined her family in Roswell, GA where she became an integral part of their daily lives. Ida continued to hike the national park trails with her daughter and the two also shared a passion for yoga. Ida was a talented pianist, and enjoyed playing duets alongside her granddaughter. Ida was also an avid tennis player, traveling to countless national tennis tournaments to watch her grandsons compete, and attended several professional tennis tournaments with her family.

Ida's love for nature and the outdoors was evident throughout her life. When others took their car, Ida chose to walk, and her pace was consistent and speedy. For example, Ida once pushed her grandson in a jogger stroller in the Kiawah Island, SC 1/2 marathon race, where she placed 2nd in her age group, bypassing most of the runners! For Ida, walking was not a form of exercise, but rather a daily part of her life. Ida was also a naturally gifted chef and rarely followed recipes. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and anyone who had the opportunity to enjoy Ida's cuisine will fondly recall her delicious signature dish, chicken parmesan.

Although Ida was multi-talented, she will be most remembered for her kind, loving and energetic spirit. She will be sorely missed. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:30 am at St Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, GA followed by a reception/lunch at this location.
