J. Michael O'Brien of Roswell, Georgia passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024 at the age of 89 with his daughter Kelly by his side. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife of fifty six years, Betty Jean, and siblings Jerry, Peter, Robin, John, Neal, and Eileen. Michael was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 10, 1935 to the late Cletus and Milmer O'Brien. The oldest of eight children raised in Detroit, he attended Visitation Catholic High School. After high school, he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. Michael O'Brien was in the car business for over 60 years, starting out as a salesman and eventually owning his own successful automotive business before retiring in 2020. He was well respected in his field. He is survived by his loving family; daughters Kelly O'Brien Williams (Ron) and Robin Marie Valls (Guillermo) ; grandchildren Kaitlin Lowe (Justin), Kelsey Taylor (Drew), Guille Valls, Hope Valls, Michael Valls, Gabriel Valls, and Bridget Valls; great grandchildren Joel Vaughan, Scarlett Lowe, Noah Taylor, Ryleigh Lowe, Aiden Taylor, Shelby Lowe, his loving sister Kathleen Price, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, from 6-8 pm at Northside Chapel, 12050 Crabapple Road Roswell, Ga 30075. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 23 at 11 am Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3740 Holtzclaw Road Cumming, GA 30041. Burial will take place on Monday, January 6 at 11am Georgia National Military Cemetery,1080 Scott Hudgens Drive Canton, Ga 30114.
