James "Ron" Rooney, age 80, of Trenton, GA passed away on December 6, 2025 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was a graduate of Calhoun High School. He was also members of the Army National Guard and the American Legion. He was a lineman with Georgia Power and worked 29 years. Was an instructor at SLTC, was an OSHA certified safety trainer. He enjoyed working and teaching others. He was the biggest Georgia Bulldog fan.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Belinda Skyles Rooney; his mother, Frankie Holsomback; his brothers, Tony Holsomback and Terry Holsomback; and his sister, Gail Ledford.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Nicole Koehler and husband, Mark Koehler; his granddaughter, Crimson Jones and husband, Luke Jones; his great granddaughter, Nora Jones and great grandson, Collin Jones; his brother, Steve Holsomback and wife, Brenda Holsomback; and several nephews
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion in Trenton, GA (13205 N Main St, Trenton, GA 30752) on January 10, 2025 from 2-4pm.
